AXD 320 is a vital member of the AXD 3x0 family .
It currently also includes the AXD 340 IAD. The products are managed
by the OmniVision Element Manager system (often integrated with big
standard SNMP-based management systems like HP OV, IBM Tivoli, CastleRock
SNMPc, etc.).
The AXD 3x0 series supports a wide range of digital voice switching
protocols (like ISDN, QSIG, DASS2, DPNSS, etc.) including advanced
protocol conversion capabilities. This means that AXD3x0 products
can act as true voice switches enabling ready integration of customer
and carrier voice equipment into an IP/ATM based core transport network.
Integrated IP routing capabilities enable interworking between TDM,
ATM and IP environments. Moreover, VoIP signalling is also supported
in two formats. SIP signalling is used for interworking with third
party standards based products and PSTN gateways. PBXoIP, a proprietary
signalling and transport mechanism is used to economically interwork
PBXs using feature transparency protocols over IP.
The AXD 320 Multiservice Access Switch is a highly featured multi-service
access switch for connection of customer voice and data equipment
to private and public Wide Area Networks. Carriers deploy AXD 320
as customer located equipment (CLE). Enterprises deploy it normally
as a WAN Access Switch. The AXD 320 is also deployed as a remote,
small scale Point of Presence (PoP) or as a small aggregator.
The AXD 320 can be used in networks comprising AXD 301, AXD 305,
AXD 310 and AXD 340 systems, or in networks using third party voice
and data switches with standards compliant interfaces.
The AXD 320 has been designed to enable cost-effective but yet highly-intelligent
Service Provisioning. Ease of deployment combined with configuration
flexibility and one of the best in industry price/intelligence ratio
makes the AXD 320 a sound choice for Service Providers targeting enterprise
segment. Service Providers use the AXD 320 either to offer a range
of services to different customers on-demand, or to offer a set of
pre-defined differentiated service products to target market segments.
Differentiated service capability enables Service Providers to acquire
customers quickly, and to reduce customer churn.
