Due to the competitive situation and the resources required establishing a profitable CPE-business, Product Line Broadband Access has decided to limit its activities in the field of broadband CPE:s.

Business Gateway types of CPE:s will not be part of the Product Line Broadband Access product portfolio. Business analysis of this opportunity resides with other Product Lines, and any product offering will be done there.

Standard Home Gateways will not be part of the Product Line Boradband Access product portfolio. Activites within Product Line Broadband Access will instead focus on interoperability testing with a number of established vendors' equipment. A "CPE Reference List" will soon be available in the Document list.

A limited number of broadband CPE:s, needed for initial support of new EDA capabilities and where no standard CPE exist, will be maintained as Ericsson products. These CPE:s are referred to as EDA Supportive.
